HackTheJD is currently free to use. We do not charge for core features at this time.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name via Google Sign-In or email/password registration.
- Resume Data: When you upload a resume for analysis, we temporarily process the text content to generate your report. We do not permanently store your raw resume file on our servers.
- Job Description Text: The job description you paste is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored.
- Analysis Results: Your completed analysis reports are saved in your account history so you can revisit them.
- Career Profile: Information you enter on your profile page (roles, skills, goals, links, professional summary) is stored in your account to power personalized coaching and resume generation.
- Builder Fellowship Applications: If you apply to the HTJD Builder Fellowship, we collect the information you submit in the application form — such as your name, email, field of interest, experience level, and any optional notes — to review and manage your application.
- Shipped Repo URLs: When you submit a public GitHub or GitLab repository URL as part of a Builder Fellowship ship or certificate verification, we store that URL and related metadata to validate your submission and publish evidence pages.
- Public Certificates: Completed Fellowship certificates are published as public evidence pages. These may include your display name, project title, repo URL, and completion date. Anyone with the certificate link can view this information.
- Talent Board Waitlist: If a company submits early interest for the Talent Board, we collect the contact email and company details provided to manage the waitlist and notify you when hiring features launch.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide AI-powered resume analysis and career coaching.
- To manage your account and analysis history.
- To review Builder Fellowship applications, verify shipped repos, and publish public certificates.
- To manage the Talent Board company waitlist.
- To improve our AI models and service quality (using anonymized, aggregated data only).
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase/Firestore) with enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit. We use Google Cloud Secret Manager for all sensitive API keys and credentials. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel only.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase: Authentication and database hosting.
- Google Gemini API: AI-powered resume analysis.
5. Data Retention
Your account data and analysis history are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
